Quarantine, Social Distancing and Lockdown

As I write this post sipping my anti cold concoction I might as well add, this is not a post about how to maintain hygiene during this COVID-19 virus outbreak since there are my posts around the corner requesting everyone to maintain safe distance and follow a certain hygiene routine. Frankly speaking I didn’t have the slightest clue this virus would have such an outbreak all over the world with people dying. Ok enough of the grim instances in life now let's get back to my subject which could act as a breath of fresh air.

This post on a lighter note is just my take on all those phenomena which were just restricted to my biology lesson- quarantines, viruses and incubation period. Furthermore it is in no way an awareness review about the pandemic. People are doing their job to contain this.

All hell broke loose when my most anticipated family trip to Northeast got cancelled at the eleventh hour and as if this wasn’t enough that now I am stuck at home with college break getting extended and nothing to do but indulge in guilty pleasures. Ya for those of you who don't know me, Hi there, I don't work from home, currently I am jobless and I study Earth Science 😊.

The view from my house in Barbil, a small town in Odisha

● I sleep for like most of the time, watch Netflix, it’s not my account and on top of that the subscription expired a while ago- come on now half of the people in India do that
● Some days I prefer cooking a meal and some days I just prefer eating and probably overeat.
● I don't work-out or have yoga sessions at home. Frequently I suffer from acid refluxes during the day due to excessive eating which I am in no way used to in my regular schedule at college. (since now I am at home and Indian parenting involves feeding as the prime motive)
● I have started reading with much difficulty since I've vitiated my patience along with my glory days. I can just manage to read 50 pages a day disgracing the bookworm community.
● I've not been practicing social distancing. Cheated two days and met my friends to sulk about lockdown and eat scrumptious food😎.
● Frustrated about unavailability of sanitizers and nose masks and frequently getting into disputes with online pharmacy apps misleading people about sanitiser stocks being available. Beware of those.
● Now after 7 days of being like this I've decided to at least write something for people like me who could relate to someone who's jobless has forgotten her laptop so there's no way she could do her assignments.

A time has come when I don't enjoy Netflix anymore, I loathe sitting in my room and scrolling Instagram posts. I've started motivating myself to atleast get up early (Setting up small goals). I actually want to study or learn something new which I would figure out soon. Thinking of applying wood varnishes to all old furniture. And instead of over eating I do cook, help in cleaning and then eat.
Bye Bye Acid refluxes.
But this lockdown has given us time to just pause from our fast paced life and take some time out for ourselves

Unknowingly I have had my own kind of hustle everyday, so this lockdown is kind of a necessary evil for me.
Do comment if this post could in any way be relatable as well as share how you people have been coping up.

P.S I could not be more proud of the awareness being spread. Let us all continue to be responsible citizens and help the nation overcome this outbreak.
Sending peace, love and wellness your way😊

  5. On the brighter side, we are all safe. Those who went for that trip had this thing always in their head, and couldn't enjoy it as planned, trust me. And hey that pic, nice place to chill. And as you know probably everyone is enjoying home time, so am I with the little one and playing games and watching news about the update. Hope this stuff goes away soon so that people can start living normally again. Lots of people are economically getting affected due to it. A lot to learn from this global phenomenon and how serious it can get. As well as lot other stuff happening which are being ignored like pollution, global warming etc.
    Prayers for all. Stay safe.
